The picture is of our three little African Wood owls who are in at present. Chestnut (on the right) is just starting to fly again having come in a few weeks ago with two broken wings. She seems to have made a full recovery and should be released soon.
The dark bird on the left is Woodstock who flew into a window and knocked herself out. She will never be quite right enough to release but she is a great foster mum to any little Wood owls who come in.
The middle, very sleepy owl was rescued as a baby from being stoned by the hospital guards, by Dr. Sharma, the dentist at Gertrude’s Hospital, and as a result is called Molar.
