Innocent-Mekenye-InaugurationBelow is a special message from Innocent Mekenye, a  student Kijani donors have helped to complete his education having started as an orphan from the slums  of Naivasha. We have also been able to introduce him to Gertrudes Children’s Hospital so that he can realise his  ambition to be a paediatrician.

Dear Lis,

It is with great joy I want to inform you that I graduated from the  University on the 5th of December 2014. I am now a doctor. Thank you very much for the support you offered me.

I am now waiting to be posted for internship by the Ministry of Health by around April next year. The  internship period will take one year, after which I will receive my Licence to practice medicine. One  or two years after my internship, God willing, I look forward to being able to start my masters degree  which will enable me become the paediatric surgeon I have always dreamt of.

This way I will be able to  serve society more effectively.

From January next year, I look forward to volunteering and learning at Gertrudes Children’s Hospital,  as I await my posting in April.

I am so humbled by the kindness that you and Sarah Higgins have shown to me. May God give both of you good health and long life.

Innocent Mekenye
