Kijani Kenya Trust

Kijani Kenya Trust is run by volunteers with the exception of our administrator Carole Nganga who is based in Nairobi. We also pay for accountancy services as required.

A great many people have been involved in producing four very successful Kijani Kenya Festivals and initiating a series of projects for HIV/aids, health, education and environmental conservation.

We would like to thank the following for their generous time:

Kijani Kenya Trust Directors in Kenya

  • The Honourable Charles Njonjo
  • Kristina Kenyatta Pratt
  • Miriam Haynes
  • Lis Woods
  • Rajan Chandaria – Company Secretary

Administrator Nairobi office

  • Carole Nganga

Kijani Kenya Trust UK

The Kijani Kenya Trust UK was formed in 2004 as a registered British Charity. Kijani UK’s main objectives are to assist with fundraising in Britain.

Trustees

  • Elisabeth Woods – Chairman
  • Miriam Haynes – Director
  • Stephen Fell – Director
  • Alan Baynes – Company Secretary
  • Gillian Bullock – Fundraising

Kijani fundraising for PEDPACT started with donations from The Collier Trust and the purchase of a CD4 machine, the first of its kind in Laikipia.

Professor Bullock visited Kenya in 2008 and kindly offered her fundraising expertise for the Pedpact project. As a result many  more specialist clinics have been held in Laikipia.

First a lunch was held where over £7,500 was raised to initiate data
research and needs assessment to be carried out by Gertrude’s
Children’s Hospital. Since that time, another lunch and a cricket
match have swelled the total raised to over £15,000. Monthly
donations are also proving a valuable source of income.

As a result, 13 specialist clinics in Laikipia East with Nanyuki District Hospital, Nanyuki Cottage Hospital, Community Health Africa and the Likii Centre have been held.
